Cooking Filet Mignon In Oven

It is very easy to cook filet mignon using the oven. It takes just 16 minutes of cooking in the oven to prepare wonderful flavored steak and impress your guests during the next get together. Add seasonings of your choice and rub them over the meat before your bake them in the oven. This would help in retaining the flavor. You may also soak the steak overnight if you would like to use a marinade.

Take a large skillet and pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil. You should be able to place the skillet inside the oven. Heat the oil suitably and sear each of the mignon steaks on both the sides for a period 3 minutes. This would make the steaks tender and also hold the juices. Preheat the oven to a temperature of 375° F and place the skillet inside the oven. You can bake for 4 – 6 minutes for rare steak. If you bake for 6 – 8 minutes, you would get medium cooked steak and if you want it well done, bake for 8 – 10 minutes. To add good flavor, you can use tasty sauces like steak sauce or even butter sauce.

You may also prepare filet mignon sauce for great taste. For this you need to fry onion rings in butter and add some orange juice, Dionmustard and also Worchester sauce to this mixture and stir for 1 minute. Then stir for one more minute after you add a cup of cream. You can pour this sauce over the Filet Steaks and also garnish with parsley.
