Healthy Eating Or Exercise In Schools

Regular exercise as well as a well-balanced healthy diet is essential for children to improve their over-all growth and development. Kids must be taught to eat smartly right from their childhood.

They must be fed on a well-balanced diet rich in proteins, carbohydrates and many different vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and A, iron and calcium from a variety of foods and anti-oxidants. They must include more portions of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and protein sources in their diet.
Children must never be allowed to skip breakfast. They can be fed anything ranging from cold cereal with fruit and low-fat milk, whole-wheat toast with peanut butter, yogurt with fruit, or even whole-grain waffles. Since kids tend to feel hungry at short intervals, they tend to go for unhealthy snacks like fried snacks, oily chips, or sugar-laden candy bars. These items can be replaced by a glass of low-calorie toned milk, an apple or an orange, raisins, dry cereals or even muesli containing honey and almonds.
Exercises aid in strengthening the cardiovascular system, improve the working of the lungs, prevent obesity and excess weight from getting deposited in the body, boost the immune response of the body and increase the energy levels, pep-up your life and impart a general feeling of well-being. Apart from improving the body’s fitness, exercises aid in the speedy removal of toxins from the body and also regulate or normalize sleep disorders.
Children can fit physical activities into their daily busy schedules by simply playing along with friends, or dancing to some music, or joining a sports team at school or going on a walk to the local park together with the family, or even engaging in some naughty somersaults and jumping to provide the daily quota of exercise to their little bodies.
